Ahhhh yes please!

I would LOVE an upgrade and either of these would be a big one!
The D800 is an amazing camera and I've been drooling over the Mark III for a while now. :)

Big thanks to the SnapKnot wedding photography directory for offering this great camera giveaway!

Meanwhile... in "sessionland"

How handsome is this little guy!? He's an explorer and had little interest in smiling for me and my silly camera- what with so many other intriguing things in the studio to study. I have to say though- that smile is absolutely golden when you're lucky enough to catch it!

Mom says this is "his whole world right now" blocks; building and destroying. I think it's so fun to be apart of documenting these milestones..

I love this..

Motherhood is the most complex and wonderful club a woman can join. There's no description that could really simplify what it means to be a mother or justly portray the depth of every emotion a mother feels but I think this image captures one of those secret moments a mother has when her heart is overflowing with the immeasurable motherly love we feel for our littles. This might just be a tiny window into a mothers soul.

Did I mention I have a new studio??

So at the beginning of the year we decided we were NOT going to renew our lease at the wretched apartment with the hoards of stray cats crawling all over it. No more picture frames and calenders falling off the walls because the couple next door are getting abusive again, no more S.W.A.T. raids and police lock downs on the complex in order to catch whatever criminal across the way..

No, we needed somewhere safe.. and with SPACE.

House hunting was kind of a nightmare and everything seemed out of our price range. We finally got in touch with a realtor who sent us 3 (horrible) phone pictures of a home in a very nice -family- neighborhood. It was hard to tell what the house looked like from the photos but we thought we'd see for our selves. I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary, just a 4bd and maybe -with fingers crossed- one of the rooms might have enough good light for a studio set up...
To my surprise, the garage had been enclosed creating an enormous laundry room and a PERFECT separated studio room. There's a gorgeous window seat and built-in shelving with just enough space for all of my props.

I was sold immediately.

I've already had countless studio sessions and even newborn triplets just this last weekend!
Sometimes I have to stop and pinch myself. I never could have imagined all of this would be coming to life for me. :)
